Calculation Notes
- **Main Bar Length Calculation:**
- For **Ground/First Floor** types, the **Bar Len (m)** is simplified to equal the **Col Height (m)**.
- For **Custom** types, **Bar Len (m)** is calculated as: Column Height - Offset at Ends + Lap/Anchorage.
- **Ordering Quantity (Practical) Calculation:**
Ordering quantity is based on standard 12 m bars:
- For **Ground Floor**: 1 standard 12 m bar yields 2 pieces (Qty = CEIL(Nos / 2)).
- For **First Floor**: 1 standard 12 m bar yields 3 pieces (Qty = CEIL(Nos / 3)).
- For **Custom** type: Quantity is calculated by CEIL(Total Required Length / 12 m).
- **Unit Weight:** Steel unit weight formula used is: Weight = (d*d / 162) kg/m, where 'd' is the diameter in mm.
- **Tie Bar Calculation:**
- A standard **100 mm (0.10 m)** is added to the perimeter length of each tie for 135° hooks.
- **Effective Tie Height (H_eff):** The calculator uses a reduced height for ties to account for confined zones at beam/slab junctions:
- If **Ground Floor** is selected: H_eff = Height - 1.0 m (for L-bend, plinth, and roof junction).
- If **First Floor** or **Custom** is selected: H_eff = Height - 0.3 m (for one beam/slab junction).
- **Dynamic Height:** If you manually change a column's **Col Height (m)** while **Ground Floor** or **First Floor** is selected, the global **Floor Height Type** will automatically switch to **Custom**.
Note:
- This Calculator assumes length of 1 “bar” is 12m.
- This calculator supports quantity calculation for 2 types of main diameters one type for ties.
- If calculating for a ground floor structure, Enter height as 6.1m.
- If calculating for upper floor structure, enter height as 4.1m.
